Under everything lie the ruins of Wyveria, the ancient Wyverian capital: dark stone caverns overgrown with vines, spiralling down level after level. Something white and glowing flows through them, and the monsters here aren’t quite natural.
How it works
That white substance is Wyvern Milk, or Wylk. It flows through the ruins, and the Guardians live on it. They’re artificial monsters, built by Wyveria as weapons and defenders, and they still roam the ruins and attack intruders. Guardian Arkveld and Guardian Rathalos are among them. When this region’s Inclemency hits, more Guardians appear and their cocoons hatch new ones. The energy behind it all comes from the Dragontorch, an ancient power source at the Dragontorch Shrine, and it’s carried through the land by channels called Wyrmways.
Who lives here
Sild, the Keepers’ Vigil, is a small hidden village inside the ruins. The Keepers are descendants of Wyveria’s survivors who stayed behind to watch over the place, and Nata is one of them.
Not everything here is a Guardian. Xu Wu lives in the ruins too and hunts the Guardians, and Tempered versions of many monsters from the other regions roam its halls.
Worth knowing
- You reach the ruins in Chapter 3, and the Low Rank story ends at the very bottom with Zoh Shia.
- Guardians leave Wylk crystals when they attack, and elemental Slinger ammo sets them off.
