How to use the Build Planner

Pick a weapon, fill the five armor slots and choose a talisman. Every item in the planner comes straight from the Monster Hunter Wilds game files, the same data behind our weapon, armor and skill pages. Click a decoration slot to socket a jewel. The planner only shows jewels that actually fit: weapon jewels go in weapon slots, armor jewels in armor slots, and a size 3 jewel never squeezes into a size 2 slot.

On the right your skills add up as you go, with levels over the cap marked as wasted. Set bonuses and group skills count your pieces and light up when they’re active, so you can see at a glance whether that fourth Gore piece is really worth it.

Effective raw and effective element

The Damage box shows effective raw (EFR) and effective element (EFE), the numbers hunters use to compare builds. They take your weapon’s true attack, your affinity, Critical Boost and your best sharpness color into account. Conditional skills like Agitator, Weakness Exploit or Maximum Might have their own switches, so you can see your numbers with and without them.

We only count a skill when its exact values are confirmed. Everything in the numbers matches the in-game skill text. Skills like Critical Element or Burst, whose exact values aren’t confirmed by two sources yet, still show up in your skill list, but the planner tells you they’re left out of the math instead of guessing. Hitzones and motion values aren’t part of it either, so treat the numbers as a way to compare two builds, not as a damage meter.

Artian weapons and appraised talismans

Artian and Gogma Artian weapons are rolled by you, so no database can list them. Choose “Enter an Artian / Gogma Artian weapon” in the weapon picker and type in the attack, affinity, element and slots your weapon shows in game. For Gogma weapons you can also pick the set bonus and group skill it rolled. The same goes for talismans from Glowing Stones and Timeworn Charms: choose “Enter my appraised talisman” and add its skills and slots. Not sure how those systems work? Our Artian weapons guide and talismans guide walk you through them.

Share your build

Name your build, add a few notes for other hunters and hit one of the share buttons. “Copy build link” gives you a link that rebuilds the exact set for anyone who opens it. “Save build image” makes a card with your gear, skills, set bonuses and damage numbers, in landscape for Reddit and Discord or portrait for phones. And “Post to r/monsterhunterbuilds” opens a new Reddit post with your link and title filled in, and the post shows a picture of your build.

Shared builds also land in Community Builds, where you can browse what other hunters are running, filter by weapon and element, and open any build to tweak it into your own. Builds are tagged with the game version they were made for, so you can tell at a glance if one is from before a big Title Update.
