Guardian Doshaguma is the first Guardian you’ll face, and it’s a good introduction to how strange these things are. It looks like a Doshaguma, but it has pale patches, glowing veins and black eyes.
Out in the wild
It lives only in the Ruins of Wyveria. It was made by an ancient civilisation using Doshaguma’s power. It can’t breed, never eats and runs on Wyvern Milk instead. As long as it keeps topping up on Wylk it heals quickly and simply doesn’t die of old age, and it goes back to the Wylksprings to refill. It’s territorial and hostile to anything that wanders in. It’s slow, but tough enough to plough through attacks without flinching.
It loses turf wars to Guardian Fulgur Anjanath, Xu Wu and Arkveld.
Where you meet it
At the start of Chapter 3, “The Faithful Keepers”, on the way to the Keepers’ village. The Doshaguma it’s based on is new with Wilds too. A Tempered version appears later in High Rank.
How the fight goes
Most of its attacks are big forelimb swings. The ones charged with Guardian energy explode and leave Wylk crystals behind. Its saliva carries acid that lowers your defense for a while.
Hunter’s tips
- Hit the crystals with elemental Slinger ammo. The explosions can knock it down.
- Fight from its side. Most of its dangerous attacks go forward.
- Deal with the forearm attacks well and it exposes a weak point worth exploiting. The forelegs and tail hair can be broken.
- Adamant Seeds or Armorskins cancel the defense drop.
