- Tempered Guardian Ebony Odogaron
An artificial species created by an ancient civilization with an Ebony Odogaron's power. The flurries from their foreclaws pose a threat.In-game description
Fast, relentless and bleeding you dry. Guardian Ebony Odogaron is Wyveria’s version of the black Odogaron, and it hunts even though it doesn’t need to eat.
Out in the wild
It lives only in the Ruins of Wyveria. It was made with Ebony Odogaron’s power, can’t breed and runs on Wyvern Milk. It still roams Wyveria and hunts small monsters anyway. When it runs out of Wylk, its dragon element switches off too. It tries to pin targets down with flurries of attacks from its claws and its agile tail.
It loses turf wars to Xu Wu and Arkveld.
Where you meet it
Chapter 3, “Full Circle”. Right after you bring it down, Xu Wu shows up and takes the body. Odogaron first appeared in Monster Hunter World (2018), and the Ebony subspecies in Iceborne (2019). A Tempered version arrives later in High Rank.
How the fight goes
It’s quick and chains its attacks. Its claws cause bleeding, and its claws and tail both carry Guardian energy that explodes. When its dragon attacks hit Wylk crystals, they explode with dragon damage. A glowing tail means a sweep is coming.
Hunter’s tips
- Bring Nulberries for dragonblight and a Well-done Steak or Wild Jerky for bleeding.
- Hit the crystals with elemental Slinger ammo to damage it or knock it down.
- Paralysis is very useful for pinning it in place.
- Head, legs and tail tip can be broken, and the tail can be cut off.
