- Tempered Guardian Fulgur Anjanath
An artificial species created by an ancient civilization with a Fulgur Anjanath's power. They can discharge lightning and have a nasty bite.In-game description
An electrified tyrant rebuilt by ancient hands. Guardian Fulgur Anjanath is Wyveria’s copy of the lightning-charged Anjanath subspecies, and the Wylk inside it only makes the sparks worse.
Out in the wild
It lives only in the Ruins of Wyveria. It was made with Fulgur Anjanath’s power, can’t breed, doesn’t need food and runs on Wyvern Milk. That Wylk powers up its lightning. It stores electricity in its body, releases it as attacks and uses it to boost itself for savage bites. When its Wylk runs dry, from heavy damage or overuse, its thunder powers shut off until it refills at a Wylkspring.
It beats Guardian Doshaguma, and loses to Guardian Rathalos, Xu Wu and Arkveld.
Where you meet it
In High Rank, Chapter 4, “Wyvern Sparks and Rose Thorns”, alongside a Tempered Lala Barina. Fulgur Anjanath first appeared in Monster Hunter World: Iceborne (2019). A Tempered version arrives later in High Rank.
How the fight goes
Watch the sparks and watch the teeth. Its jaws carry Guardian energy, and its bites leave Wylk crystals that explode when its electricity touches them. Thunderblight is part of the deal, so bring Nulberries.
Hunter’s tips
- Go hard at the legs to topple it.
- Breaking its back wounds can knock it over and switch off its lightning for a while.
- Set off crystals yourself with Slinger ammo before it can use them.
- Flash Pods stagger it. Head and legs can be broken, and the tail can be cut off.
