The Ancient Leshen is the Witcher crossover’s endgame. It is an older, far deadlier form of the forest spirit, and this time your own hunter and three friends take it on.
Out in the wild
This old leshen came through a portal and took control of the Ancient Forest. Some see it as a local god. Like the regular Leshen, it commands the wildlife around it, sending packs of Jagras after hunters and lashing out with roots from below. It isn’t a monster that belongs in the New World food chain.
Where you meet it
It came with The Witcher 3 collaboration in February 2019 as the event quest Contract: Woodland Spirit. It needs Hunter Rank 50 or higher and was built for multiplayer. The rewards are materials for Ciri’s armor and weapons.
How the fight goes
It is a tough group fight. The Ancient Leshen controls space with roots that burst from the ground, and it keeps calling in Jagras to pressure the party. Plan for a long hunt and good teamwork.
Hunter’s tips
- Fire weapons are the way to go, since fire is its biggest weakness.
- Poison is its best status, while sleep is a waste of time.
- Kill the summoned Jagras fast so the whole party can focus on the Leshen.
- Leave the traps at home. They don’t work on it.
