An Omega frame that crossed the interdimensional rift. It descended on the Forbidden Lands to find stronger lifeforms and planets to invade.In-game description
Omega Planetes isn’t from this world. It’s a Final Fantasy XIV collaboration monster: a war machine that crossed a dimensional rift into the Forbidden Lands to study the strongest creatures it could find.
Out in the wild
It’s an Omega frame on a mission to study the Forbidden Lands’ lifeforms, mainly the monsters, so it can evolve and take over everything in its way. You fight it at Rimechain Peak. It brings its own help: Omega Micros, small drones that chase hunters down and blow up.
Where you meet it
It arrived with Title Update 3 on September 29, 2025. The main assignment is “Invader from the Stars”. There’s also a much harder Savage version, the event quest “Planetes Protocol (Savage)”, for HR 100+. New to the series with Wilds.
How the fight goes
This is an FFXIV raid wearing a Monster Hunter coat, and it plays like one. Hitting its head enough makes it lock onto one hunter, who can then hold its attention like a tank. If that hunter is in trouble, someone else can take over by hitting the head. In Pantokrator mode it gets much more dangerous, and wounds on its legs break that mode. During the Delta Attack phase you have to quickly defeat a holographic Nerscylla clone to earn a shield. Fail that and the whole party gets wiped.
Hunter’s tips
- Destroy the glowing Omega Micros to get a shield.
- Use the boulders and walls at Rimechain Peak to knock it down.
- Attack the legs to create openings for the team.
- Head, legs and the rear power unit can be broken.
