A mysterious elder dragon able to manipulate the earth itself. Vibrations from its wingtips reshape the earth, denying hunters footing.In-game description
Shara Ishvalda is the end of Iceborne’s story. It starts out looking like a walking pile of rock, and then the rock comes off and something much stranger is underneath.
Out in the wild
It lives only on Origin Isle, the place the whole Iceborne story has been pointing at. It shapes the ground with vibrations from its wingtips, turning the floor into sand pits that slow you down but not it. Under its stone armor is a lean, quick body.
Where you meet it
It is the final boss of Iceborne’s main story. You fight it in the Master Rank 6-star assignment Paean of Guidance on Origin Isle. Ruiner Nergigante is part of that same final stretch on Origin Isle.
How the fight goes
In the first phase it is covered in rock, slow and heavy, swinging its wings like hammers. Strip the armor and it turns fast and aggressive, sweeping the ground and firing sound waves from its wingtips. Later it burrows, comes up at the edge of the arena and drops an energy bomb that sets off the sand pits.
Hunter’s tips
- Bring bombs. They are one of the best ways to crack the rock shell, and so are the falling rocks in the arena.
- Use the clutch claw to steer it into those rocks for big damage.
- Ice is by far its best element, with water as a backup. It is very weak to blast but immune to sleep, so leave sleep weapons at home.
- It stuns you often, so Stun Resistance is worth a slot.
