Legiana is the graceful ice queen of the Coral Highlands. It glides around like a giant white kite and covers everything in frost. In World it is the apex of the Highlands, and in Iceborne its kind kicks off the whole story.
Out in the wild
Legiana rules the Coral Highlands and hunts mostly Raphinos. A chilling wind pours off its body and makes it hard for prey to get away. It is very territorial and clashes with Paolumu, Odogaron and Deviljho. In Iceborne, a mysterious song drives a big flock of Legiana across the sea, and following them leads the Research Commission to the Hoarfrost Reach.
Where you meet it
Your first hunt is the 5-star Low Rank assignment Legiana: Embodiment of Elegance. It returns in High Rank, where tempered Legiana show up too. Iceborne brings it back in Master Rank and adds a frostier variant, Shrieking Legiana.
How the fight goes
Legiana would rather fight from the air. It breathes ice, even while it’s flying, and it slashes with its claws and swings its tail. Its ice gives you iceblight, which makes every dodge and sprint eat more stamina.
Hunter’s tips
- Flash Pods bring it down to the ground. It gets used to them, so time them well.
- Nulberries cure iceblight. Bring plenty.
- Thunder is its biggest weakness, with Fire second. Poison is the status that works best.
- Cut the tail. Its tail attacks become much less of a problem after that.
