Tzitzi-Ya-Ku is the flashlight bird of the Coral Highlands. It flashes a blinding light from its head frill, and once you are dazed it kicks you around. It is a fast, slightly sneaky little hunt that teaches you to respect telegraphs.
Out in the wild
It lives in the Coral Highlands and has a nest there. It blinds both prey and enemies with a pulsing organ near its head and then finishes them off with its strong legs. Like Kulu-Ya-Ku, it is a bird wyvern that walks on two legs, but it fights with light instead of rocks.
Where you meet it
Tzitzi-Ya-Ku is not an assignment target. You first hunt it in the Low Rank 4★ optional quest A Tzitzi for Science in the Coral Highlands. It is also a quest target in High Rank and Master Rank.
How the fight goes
It is quick and always on the move, leaping at you and following up with tail swipes and kicks. The real danger is the flash. Its organ glows before it goes off, and if you are caught in front of it you are stunned and wide open.
Hunter’s tips
- When the head starts to glow, get to its side or behind it.
- Shield users can block the flash.
- Hit the head organ. Damaging it shrinks the flash range a lot.
- Thunder and ice are its big weaknesses. Pitfall and Shock Traps both work.
