Guild Points pay for pop-up camps, the Support Ship and resting to change the environment (500 GP). The best combined farm for both zenny and Guild Points is net-fishing Goldenfish and Platinumfish at the hidden underground lake in Scarlet Forest Area 8. Sell surplus materials and scales straight from camp.
Sooner or later you’ll run short on zenny for upgrades or on Guild Points for rerolling the weather. Here’s what both currencies are for, and the farms that actually work.
Two currencies
Zenny is your normal money for crafting and upgrades. Guild Points (GP) are a separate currency you earn from hunting, quests and gathering. You spend GP on:
- Setting up and repairing pop-up camps
- Shopping at the Support Ship
- Resting at a tent to skip time or change the environment
Title Update 1 raised the cost of resting to 500 GP (it was 300 at launch), and gave investigations 10% more Guild Points.
How you earn Guild Points
- Quests and hunts
- Catching endemic life with the Capture Net
- Fishing
The best farm: fishing in the Scarlet Forest
The hidden underground lake in Scarlet Forest Area 8, behind a waterfall with a pop-up camp spot nearby, is the farm guides keep coming back to. It gives both zenny and Guild Points.
- Head to the cave lake in Scarlet Forest Area 8.
- Net-fish for Goldenfish and Platinumfish. Goldenfish give Golden Scales, and Platinumfish give Platinum Scales.
- Each Platinumfish is worth 100 GP, and its Platinum Scale sells for 2,000z.
- When the lake is empty, fast travel or change area and come back. The fish respawn.
- Sell your scales from camp, then repeat.
You don’t need to go back to town to sell. Any camp lets you sell through Item Management, with Check/Sell Items.
More zenny tips
- Sell surplus monster materials instead of hoarding them. You’ll keep getting more.
- The trophy “Bourgeois Hunter” asks you to hold 1,000,000z at once, so a fishing session or two goes a long way.
The Support Ship
The Support Ship unlocks after Chapter 3 and docks only at the Windward Plains base camp. The trader is Santiago, and he only takes Guild Points.
- The ship stays for about three in-game days, leaves, then comes back.
- The stock is random: consumables, monster parts, Commission Tickets, trade eggs and weapons.
- You can request a category, such as Medicinal, Equipment Materials, Misc or Any, to raise the odds of that kind of item next time.
