Banbaro is a walking bulldozer with antlers. This huge Brute Wyvern was new in Iceborne, and it loves to tear up trees and boulders and fling them at whatever annoys it. It’s loud, clumsy and a lot of fun.
Out in the wild
Banbaro is usually a calm plant eater, but it gets angry fast when it’s hurt or when something invades its space. In Master Rank it roams the Hoarfrost Reach and also wanders into the other New World locales and the Guiding Lands. Its antlers dig up whatever the ground offers, so what it throws, and the blight that comes with it, depends on where you fight it. It often clashes with Beotodus in the Reach.
Where you meet it
Banbaro is your second hunt in Iceborne. It’s the target of Banbaro Blockade, an MR 1 story assignment in the Hoarfrost Reach, right after Beotodus.
How the fight goes
It’s all about the charge. Banbaro plows forward with its antlers, scooping up a boulder or a whole tree, then swings or throws it at you. A tree in its antlers makes the charge much wider. Between charges it shoves and swipes with its head, and its roar and stomps can catch you off guard.
Hunter’s tips
- Stay on its flanks. Almost everything it does goes straight ahead.
- When it charges with a tree, a Superman dive to the side is safer than a roll.
- Break the antlers early, and cut the tail if you have a blade. Dragon is its biggest weakness, with fire next.
- Keep Dung Pods handy in case it barges into another hunt, and Nulberries for Iceblight in the Reach.
