Quick answer

Artian weapons unlock in High Rank Chapter 4. You craft them from three parts that only drop from Tempered monsters, then reinforce them up to five times with random bonuses. With Title Update 4, Rarity 8 Artian weapons can be upgraded into Gogma Artian weapons using Tarred Devices from Gogmazios.

Artian weapons are the build-your-own endgame weapons of Wilds. You pick the parts, you decide the element, and then the reinforcement rolls decide how good it really gets. Here’s the whole process, from the first part to Gogma Artian.

When Artian weapons unlock

Artian crafting unlocks in High Rank Chapter 4, after the hunt against a Tempered Lala Barina together with Guardian Fulgur Anjanath. From then on, Gemma at the Smithy handles Artian weapons.

Where Artian parts come from

Artian parts only drop from Tempered monsters. They come as weapon shards that get appraised into parts after the quest. Parts come in Rarity 6, 7 and 8, and higher rarity means better base stats and slots.

Rarity Example sources
Rarity 6 Tempered Lala Barina, Rathian, Yian Kut-Ku and similar
Rarity 7 Tempered Rathalos, Gravios, Doshaguma and similar
Rarity 8 Tempered Rey Dau, Uth Duna, Nu Udra, Jin Dahaad, Gore Magala and Arkveld

Ver. 1.021 added 9★ Tempered monsters for hunters at HR 100+: Rey Dau, Uth Duna, Nu Udra, Jin Dahaad, Gore Magala, Arkveld, Mizutsune, Lagiacrus and Seregios.

Crafting an Artian weapon

A weapon takes three parts of the same rarity. Parts come in four types, Blade, Tube, Disc and Device, and each weapon type needs its own fixed mix. A Great Sword takes Blade, Blade and Tube, for example, while a Bow takes Tube, Tube and Device.

Choosing the element

  • Two parts with the same element give the weapon that element.
  • Three parts with the same element give a higher element value.
  • Three different elements give a raw weapon with no element.

Attack or affinity

Every part also carries either an Attack or an Affinity infusion, so your choice of parts shapes the weapon’s stats as well as its element.

Reinforcement: the gamble

Once forged, an Artian weapon can be reinforced up to five times. Each reinforcement adds a random bonus: Attack, Affinity, Element, Sharpness, or Ammo Capacity on bowguns.

Reinforcing uses ore points. Drearisite gives 20, Speklite 100, Argecite 200 and Oricalcite 300. You get ore from the Festival Shares and from smelting with Roqul. Reinforcing a Rarity 8 weapon all the way takes about 50 Oricalcite. If you dismantle an Artian weapon, you get the reinforcement materials back, but not the parts.

The rolls aren’t random each time you try. They follow a hidden, predetermined order, so reloading a save won’t change the result. Experienced players push that order forward with throwaway crafts until the roll they want comes up.

Ver. 1.020 made reinforcement pick materials automatically. Title Update 4 added sort options to the Reinforce and Dismantle menus, and Ver. 1.041 fixed weapons getting unintended bonus combinations when reinforced.

Gogma Artian weapons

Title Update 4 (December 16, 2025) brought Gogmazios and a new step on top of Artian weapons. To get there you need HR 100+ and the main mission “A First Cry”. After that, an Extra Mission lets you fight Gogmazios, and a permanent event quest keeps it repeatable.

  1. Break the tar masses on Gogmazios to knock off Mutated Armaments.
  2. Have them appraised into Tarred Devices.
  3. At the Smithy, choose “Upgrade to Gogma Artian Weapons”. Only Rarity 8 Artian weapons can be upgraded.

Tarred Devices come in three focus types: Attack, Affinity and Element. The exact numbers depend on your weapon type. The upgrade also adds one random Set Bonus skill and one random Group skill, and the weapon keeps the bonuses from its Artian reinforcements.

After that, Gogma Reinforce lets you strengthen or reroll the bonuses, and reroll the Set Bonus and Group skills, using Gogmazios materials. Gogma bonuses come in levels I, II, III and EX, and they’re stronger than the normal Artian bonuses.

Ver. 1.041 lets you meld Gogma materials at the Melding Pot.
